Occupation: Project Manager/Estimator with NetX Inc. An Audio Visual / Network Cabling design build company based in Markham.
How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
Online research. I had always lifted weights and was looking for a way to slim down without losing the lifting component. I tried my first cross fit class in April 2016 and haven’t looked back.
What made you decide to join CFM
The members. Everyone was really supportive right from the beginning and the coaches aren’t too bad either.
Favourite Lifts/ Wods?
There isn’t one particular workout that stands out. Anything that looks impossible on the board are usually the ones I enjoy the most. I hate my own guts during the workout but feel so good when I get to the end of it.
3 Things you would definitely find in my fridge…
Eggs, spinach and lots of meat.
Favourite place to eat
No single favourite spot but Big Bone BBQ at Laidlaw and Bullock and Mr. Jerk at Hwy7 by Main St. Unionville are regular stops for me.
Proudest Accomplishments:
My three healthy, active kids. Tyler (13), Justin (10) and Leah (8).
Something people wouldn’t know about me:
I coach each of my kids in Markham’s baseball association (MDBA). All day at work then a couple hours running practices every night of the week. The summer schedule is insane amounts of baseball. I basically live on the diamonds from May to September.
Biggest struggle in life?
My weight and nutrition. Things have definitely gotten better since I started cross fit but there is still lots of room for improvement.
Do you have a mentor, or someone you look up to? If so who?
I have come to know a number of different people that represent how I want to be in different aspects my life. I have been pretty lucky to have had the opportunity to learn from them.
Who inspires you?
My wife Leanne would like to think she is my only inspiration but she is only part of it. My kids, friends and family are all contributors.
What music I like listening to while working out:
You will definitely find 90’s reggae and hip hop at the top of my playlist.
This past year with the 6am crew has definitely impacted my lifestyle in a positive way. Thanks to the coaches and members for making it enjoyable.
