How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I was introduced to CFM by my husband, Conway, 2 years ago. I completed a trial class with Sacha and my goal was to survive 5 minutes and with her encouragement I lasted the 60 mins! But the icing on the cake was to see how proud Conway was of me.
What made you decide to join CFM /RCFEW I needed a stress reliever from work life as well as to find a common interest with Conway after 19 years of marriage.
Favourite Lifts/ Wods? I don’t have any favourites since there is always the goal of improving each lift or WOD. But definitely I dislike the snatch the most.
3 Things you would definitely find in my fridge… Greek yogurt, berries and hot sauce!
Favourite place to eat: Any place that serves fish tacos or spicy food!
Proudest Accomplishments: I signed up for the 2017 comp and did better than I anticipated.
Something people wouldn’t know about me: I was a former teacher and principal.
Biggest struggle in life? To be completely happy with my body and weight.
Do you have a mentor, or someone you look up to? If so who?

How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit? I used to go to Goodlife but wasn’t making any progress. I heard a lot about Crossfit and decided to give it a try. I’ve been doing Crossfit for about 2 years now.
What made you decide to join CFM /RCFEW. At first, it was simply location – close to home. I soon realized that I got lucky joining such a great Crossfit gym. Great coaches and group of people! Funny story – on my first day Google maps pointed me to the old Crossfit Markham location which had turned into a Women’s dance gym. I walked in the door and thought this is ‘Crossfit’? Luckily, they directed me to the current address and things are good!
Favourite Lifts/ Wods? I’m better at the body weight stuff, but really enjoy barbell work – especially cleans and trying to get better at snatches!
3 Things you would definitely find in my fridge… I eat everything. So all kinds of good and bad stuff!
Favourite place to eat: Love the Taco Bell. But I strongly recommend everyone stay away from bean burritos before a workout.

Biggest struggle in life? Finding balance between family, work and personal ambitions. So many things that you want to get done but there is only so much time in the day.
Do you have a mentor, or someone you look up to? If so who?
Who inspires you? In the gym, it’s everyone around me. It’s great to see different people excel at different movements. And it’s such a great group that everybody is very open to helping and giving pointers.
What music I like listening to while working out: I like rock from the 80’s and 90’s. I recall one class coach Ben indulged me and played some good workout music. Nobody else in the class knew what we were listening too. I guess I’m definitely in the Masters group ;-(
