How were you introduced to Cross Fit & How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I was introduced by a former member.
What made you decide to join CrossFit Markham?
I need to do something to get into shape and going to a regular gym did not interest me.
Favourite Lifts/ Wods?
Snatch squats, box jumps, AMRAPs
3 Things you would Definitely find in my Fridge…
Fruit, Cheese, Marmalade
Favourite Place to Eat:
Home and world food restaurants…love spicy food.
Proudest Accomplishments:
My 3 kids…being their father and their friend.
Something people wouldn’t know about me:
I was born in England, I’m a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
Biggest Struggle in Life?
Overcoming my harshest critic…myself.
Do you have a mentor, or someone you look up to? If so who?
I never believed in having a role model. Then I read the book Lance Armstrong: It’s not about the bike. Lance’s determination, athletic accomplishments and successful fight against cancer was truly inspirational and he became my first role model. However, when the PED scandal broke about him, I felt betrayed. So this role model thing isn’t really working for me.
Who inspires you?
People who prioritize their lives helping others who are less fortunate. People who make a point to say something nice everyday to people they meet.
What music I like listening to While Working Out:
EDM, anything with a great base beat and not AC/DC Thunderstruck because I know Anna just loves to give us a burpee beatdown 🙂
Anything else you would like to say (Open Comments)
I just want to thank Anna, Oscar, Steve and all of my fellow 6am‘rs for making me feel so welcome and being so supportive. I have accomplished so much more at CFM that I could never have imagined. I’ve lost 77 lbs in 15 months. I look forward to our workouts. My quality of life has improved and I’m doing physical activities that I previously would shy away from or I’m doing them better. But most of all, I feel like I am part of this amazing family of nut cases who are into self-inflicted pain every morning. I feel very lucky. Thanks to everyone. Peace!
